You Won't Believe the Seafood Boil at Eugene's New Hot Spot

The Yummy Crab recently opened its doors in Eugene, OR, and I had been eagerly waiting to take my son there ever since I saw the "Opening Soon" signs in the window. Our anticipation was well worth it!

We decided to visit on a Sunday around 12:30 PM and were pleasantly surprised to be seated right away. The restaurant had a welcoming atmosphere, and our waiter, Orian, immediately made us feel at home. His friendly demeanor and helpful suggestions on how to order set the tone for a great dining experience.

We opted for a simple yet satisfying seafood boil, featuring snow crab, lobster tail, crawdads, and added sausage for extra flavor. We chose the house mix flavor with mild spice, and it was absolutely delightful! The seasoning was spot on, providing the perfect balance of flavor and spice that complemented the seafood beautifully.

Service at The Yummy Crab was exceptional. Orian checked on us frequently, ensuring we had everything we needed without ever making us feel rushed. It was clear that the staff genuinely cared about our dining experience, and this attention to detail did not go unnoticed.

The only minor hiccup we encountered was that the shellfish appeared to be pre-cooked, chilled, and then re-cooked. This is fairly typical, but it did make some of the meat stick inside the claws and shells, making it difficult to extract. Despite this small inconvenience, the flavor was excellent, and it didn't detract from our overall enjoyment.

Around us, other diners seemed to be having just as much fun. The booths were filled with groups of family and friends, all laughing and enjoying their meals. The friendliness and charm of the staff were evident everywhere, contributing to a lively and positive atmosphere.

I highly recommend The Yummy Crab for anyone looking to enjoy a delicious seafood meal with family or friends. Just be prepared to get a little messy—part of the fun of a seafood boil! We left happy and satisfied, already looking forward to our next visit.
