One Of The Holy Grails Of Pro Wrestling Footage Has Been Released By WWE

With it known WWE tapes virtually all of their matches, there are several bouts that have never aired, which fans would love to watch. Among these are the likes of Dean Malenko’s final match against Sin Cara, Randy Savage vs. Undertaker from a Prime Time Wrestling taping, and Owen Hart defeating Kurt Angle in one of his first-ever matches.

However, with WWE having recently launched a new YouTube channel specializing in more unique and rare footage, a match few fans ever thought they’d see has finally been released, with the Legion Of Doom’s tryout against CM Punk and Doug Delicious from 2003 uploaded on Monday afternoon.

The fact that Animal And Hawk needed a tryout match in 2003 initially seems strange, considering their legendary tag team’s status. Yet, considering how Hawk struggled with drug and alcohol addiction during his previous time with the company, it becomes understandable. And while the duo wouldn’t be signed at the time, from WWE’s point of view, this would prove to be a good decision, as Hawk tragically died just five months later from a heart attack.
