The United States women's basketball team went head-to-head with Japan during the 2024 Paris Olympics on Monday. Before the game tipped off, a Caitlin Clark fan was spotted in the stands with a sign that had a message for Team USA.

As a rookie for the Indiana Fever, Clark's involvement with Team USA was questioned, and she was ultimately snubbed from the Olympic roster.

Clark's fanbase has been vocal about Team USA's decision to keep her off the team, mentioning that they'll need her to win gold.

The message on the fan's sign during the 2024 Paris Olympics read: "You need Caitlin Clark to beat us."

There was previous drama with Team USA head coach Cheryl Reeve, mentioning that she wasn't ready to put Clark on the international roster, but the 2024 WNBA All-Star has proven to be a generational talent.

While Clark is a phenomenal player, the USA team still had plenty of talent on its roster, including A'ja Wilson, Breanna Stewart, Diana Taurasi, and Brittney Griner.

Team USA may not "need" Caitlin Clark, but the rookie has shown that she's a superstar in the making at the professional level.

She could have brought elite playmaking and quality scoring, as she averaged 17.1 points and 8.2 assists per game during the first half of the 2024 WNBA season.

Clark leads the league in assists per game, so her fit with Team USA may have been great, given the incredible scorers on roster, such as Sabrina Ionescu, Stewart and Wilson.

Despite many fans wanting Clark to have the chance to fight for gold in 2024, she'll need to wait for the next international games.

The 2028 Summer Olympics will take place in Los Angeles, California, so Clark may be able to represent her country on U.S. soil.

She's helped the Fever secure the No. 7 seed in the WNBA rankings with an 11-15 record on the year.

The top eight teams in the league punch their ticket to the WNBA playoffs, so the rookie could be looking at a trip to the postseason in her first year as a professional.
