    Semi-truck fire shut down Ohio Turnpike Monday

    SANDUSKY COUNTY, Ohio (WJW) — A commercial vehicle fire shut down a part of the Ohio Turnpike in Sandusky County late Monday afternoon, the Ohio State Highway Patrol confirmed.

    The westbound lanes at milepost 89 (near Fremont and Rice Township) were fully closed as of 6 p.m., but an hour later, one lane was reopened. The incident reportedly took place around 4 p.m.

    Westbound travelers were being told to exit at Toll Plaza 91 (Elmore-Woodville-Gibsonburg) or Toll Plaza 110 (Sandusky-Bellevue).

    OSHP said the fire is officially out and there are no injuries at this time. It’s also not clear what led to the fire.
