Love Is Blind producer Kinetic Content is currently scouting for “single men and women who are brave, open-minded, and ready for a committed relationship” in several U.S. locations: Atlanta, Miami, New England, and Columbus, Ohio.

“Our Kinetic Content Casting team is back and actively casting new LIB cities!” read the Instagram announcement, which went on to encourage people to apply or nominate a friend or loved one who might be a good fit for the show.

Think you have what it takes to thrive on Love Is Blind ? Hopeful cast members can complete an online form , which includes questions about your hobbies, desire to have children, past relationships and dating history, and what you’re looking for in a partner. Other questions include:

• “What excites you about possibly finding the love of your life through the Love Is Blind experiment ?”
• “ Love Is Blind is an unorthodox way to find love. Why are you choosing to find love in this way and why now? Be specific.”
• “Is finding love more important to you than being on television or gaining a following via social media? Be honest.”

What it takes to get cast on ‘Love Is Blind’

So, what does it take to get cast on Love Is Blind ? Producers are looking for people who are genuinely interested in finding love. They must also be comfortable with the intense process of opening up on reality TV. Not everyone is a good fit.

“It’s challenging to find people who want this for their life,” Chelsea Griffin Appiah, a Love Is Blind alum who now works in casting for the show, told Vulture .

Potential participants must be over 21 and not currently dating, living with someone, married, or in the process of getting divorced. They need to be “mentally stable,” Appiah said, and have a strong support system that can help them cope with the stressors of going through the experiment.

To find potential participants, Love Is Blind shares casting announcements on social media. But the show also scouts social media for potential candidates and does outreach to schools, churches, and businesses, casting director Donna Driscoll told IndieWire .

“The big job for us is to make sure that everyone within a 50-mile radius is talking about the fact that Love Is Blind is casting there,” she said.

Those who make it through the initial screening participate in phone interviews, which narrow the pool even further. A few hundred people take part in a Zoom interview. There’s also a psych evaluation and background check.

“The biggest question is, ‘Why Love Is Blind ? Why them? Why now?’ It’s always on a case-by-case basis, but what I’m looking for are single candidates who are truly ready for commitment,” Driscoll said.

Eventually, producers reduce a list of thousands of potential cast members to just 30 participants. They’re looking for a group that contains strong potential matches

“Figuring out the most compatible arrangement is very, very huge,” Driscoll said.

Even if someone gets cast on Love Is Blind, that’s no guarantee they’ll be featured prominently on the show. Some people fail to make connections in the pod, while other romances don’t make the final cut.

“The story really has to hone in on the connections or triangles that we’re going to follow, and some people don’t make a connection,” Driscoll said. “The main thing is to follow the most authentic love stories at the end of the day.”
