Crash Claims Life of Young Motorcyclist

BLUEMONT, Va. – Virginia State Police (VSP) are investigating a fatal crash that kiilled a Winchester man.

According to an emailed media release from VSP Sergeant Brent W. Coffey, the incident occurred Friday, July 26, 2024.

At 7:17 p.m., a 2022 Yamaha motorcycle was traveling north at a high rate of speed on Blue Ridge Mountain in Clarke County. In the 20000 block, the motorcycle rider failed to maneuver a curve, crossed a double solid yellow centerline, and collided head-on with a southbound 2013 BMW sedan.

The driver of the BMW, a 40-year-old male from Stephens City, was not injured in the crash. He was wearing a seatbelt.

The rider of the Yamaha, Noah Alexander Montanaro, 23, died at the scene. He was wearing a helmet.

The crash remains under investigation.
