Team USA Swimmer Ryan Murphy's Wife Bridget Makes Big Life Announcement

Team USA swimmer Ryan Murphy captured a bronze medal the 100-meter backstroke Olympic swimming final in Paris, France on Monday night.

Murphy's win was punctuated with an incredible personal moment that his wife Bridge Konttinen saved for the perfect moment.

Konttinen decided to surprise her Olympic medal winning husband she revealed the sex of her and Murphy's baby with a homemade sign that is now going viral across social media.

"Ryan, It's a Girl!" Konttinen's sign read as she shared it with television cameras following her husband's win in the 100-meter backstroke.

Italian swimmer Thomas Ceccon took gold in the event and Chinese swimmer Xu Jiayu took silver.

Murphy, 29, began to laugh as he saw his wife in the stands, revealing the big news to her superstar athlete husband.

"When I was walking back around, Bridget was holding up a sign, and it said, 'Ryan, it's a girl!'" Murphy explained.

"So I'm having a baby girl in January, so that was Bridget's gender reveal to me."
