Altercation Between Jets’ Aaron Rodgers, Garrett Wilson Explained

    By Matthew Schmidt,

New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers and wide receiver Garrett Wilson were seen engaged in what appeared to be an impassioned discussion on the sidelined during a recent practice.

Of course, everyone immediately jumped to conclusions. You know how all of the armchair general managers play it.

However, Rodgers’ former Green Bay Packers teammate, wide receiver James Jones, said during a recent episode of FS1’s Speak that the “altercation” between Rodgers and Wilson was much ado about nothing.

So, essentially, this was not a personal situation between Rodgers and Wilson. The quarterback was merely trying to calm down his receiver due to a separate incident that occurred between Wilson and another player earlier in practice.

You’re telling me that a short video clip not even a full minute long didn’t tell the full story?!

    Who knew!

People are getting restless for the 2024 NFL season to begin, so, naturally, they are grasping at straws. The fact that this involved Aaron Rodgers surely played a role in everyone’s obstinacy, too.

It’s like people have to see something go wrong in order to get their rocks off, especially when it comes to a figure they particularly like.

You would think the fact that Rodgers and Wilson dapped each other up after the conversation would have tipped people off, but hey, what do I know?

Jets are set up for a historic season with Aaron Rodgers

The Jets have not made the playoffs since the 2010-11 campaign and have not made it to the Super Bowl since 1969.

This year, New York has a chance to break both of those droughts.

Clearly, the Kansas City Chiefs still reign supreme, and it’s going to be very difficult for any team to knock them off. The Jets will also have to contend with squads like the Baltimore Ravens, Cincinnati Bengals and Houston Texans—to name a few—in the crowded AFC.

But there is no denying the superb talent on this New York ballclub.

Not only do the Jets have a potentially lethal tandem in the form of Rodgers and Wilson, but they boast one of the game’s best running backs in Breece Hall, a beefed up offensive line and also added a couple of other weapons—Mike Williams and rookie Malachi Corley—to their receiving corps.

On top of all that, Gang Green lays claim to one of the best defenses in football.

The AFC East is also wide open given all of the losses the Buffalo Bills sustained this offseason, so the Jets could very well win their first division title since 2002.

Obviously, a lot has to go right, including the health of Aaron Rodgers. But if all goes according to plan, it could be a very special campaign in the Big Apple.
