“Grease,” one of world’s most popular Broadway musicals, will heat up Bucks County Playhouse’s stage in an all-new production, August 9 – September 8. Hunter Foster, who appeared in the original Broadway cast of the long-running, 1994 revival of the show, will direct and Alison Solomon, who most recently choreographed the national tour of “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” will choreograph. “Grease” will begin previews on Friday, August 9 with a special Pay-What-You-Can performance. The official press opening is Saturday, August 10 at 7:30 pm.

Noah Marlowe has a day job. It happens at night, most of the time, but it’s still his day job. Noah is in the company of the Broadway musical play The Book of Mormon, on 49th Street in Midtown Manhattan. But last night, just five blocks uptown, Noah was doing a little moonlighting in a basement nightclub called 54 Below. His job for the evening: making his solo show debut. And for that Freshman outing, were Noah Marlowe being given a letter grade, he would have been given high marks… REALLY high marks.

Many return to street encampments when their time in the pallet shelter runs out, Jessica Prosser, homeless services director for the city, said. Then, the city sweeps the encampment again, and they get to come back to the shelter for another 30 days, Prosser explained. This process can repeat multiple times.

Not to mention it inspired several amazing covers, which you might have also stumbled upon.The music video, in its poignant simplicity, is every bit as iconic.Gotye stands naked facing the camera, as featured singer Kimbra faces him. As they sing, they are slowly “painted” into and out of the background of geometric shapes using stop motion animation. There’s a very Wes Anderson feel to it that adds so much to the story told in the song, making it all the more memorable. 
All this to say…it would be a challenge to recreate the magic that’s so inherent in the original. And yet, one dance company has clearly understood the assignment.
