Carmelo Anthony showed love to Paul George during his recent appearance on '7 PM in Brooklyn'. Anthony thanked his former teammate for inspiring his son Kiyan , who is also making his way in basketball, to be the best version of himself both as a player and a person. Anthony was thankful to have George be a role model for his son.

"I want to give you your flowers though. And say, thank you, for inspiring him, you see what I'm saying? That's big. So I want to say thank you, champ for inspiring my son to be happy, say 'PG in the house all f*cking day, all night'. Thank you for that... We made this happen for a reason."

Carmelo's son Kiyan Anthony has made it no secret how much he admires PG13. So much so that Anthony even considers George to be the GOAT and his favorite player . And for Carmelo, to see his son idolize not just a player he respects so much, but a former teammate of his, must mean a great deal.

George and Anthony played together briefly in OKC. However, it appears that the two gained a lot of respect and admiration for each other during that time. Melo has also been very open about the respect and admiration he has for George, calling him the mold for many young aspiring basketball players today .

George will embark on a new adventure this year when he plays for the Philadelphia 76ers. And while that may have been a polarizing decision, he is sure to have the support of at least two people - Carmelo and Kiyan Anthony.

George Looking For Fresh Start In Philly

Paul George spoke recently about leaving the Clippers, and what his time there was like. He wasn't very kind to the organization, calling them the B-team in Los Angeles when compared to the Lakers. Fans obviously ridiculed him for this , especially considering his comments about being a Clippers fan in his childhood.

For George, teaming up with Tyrese Maxey and Joel Embiid gives him his best chance at an NBA championship since 2021. Both George and the 76ers have struggled to reach the NBA Finals these last few years. Perhaps this move can benefit both sides, as they complete each other's requirements to get to the next level.

Last season, George averaged 22.6 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 3.5 assists and played 74 games. He could be the answer to Joel Embiid's injury problems, as the 76ers can rely on George and Maxey to carry the team if and when Embiid comes up hurt during the season.

George is by no means a fading player now, but at his age, he knows the end is closer than it has ever been. So for him, his priority will be to win the NBA championship at least once in his career, so that he can complete the one dream he is yet to achieve in his professional career.
