ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. – A 22-year-old man was killed in a three-vehicle accident that caused two motorcyclists to overturn in Huntleigh.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP) reports that the crash occurred around 7:55 p.m. Monday night on northbound Route 61, north of Deacon Drive.

The crash involved a 2008 Honda Element, a 2016 Honda motorcycle, and a 2023 Yamaha motorcycle.

The MSHP reports that Dominic Buchholz, 22, was driving the Honda motorcycle alongside the driver of the Yamaha motorcycle while traveling northbound on Route 61 in the left lane.

Officials say that the crash happened when the driver of the Honda Element turned left onto northbound Route 61 and merged into the left lane.

Upon the turn, Buchholz’s motorcycle struck the rear of the Honda Element and overturned. The driver of the Yamaha struck Buchholz’s vehicle and was overturned as well.

Buchholz was pronounced dead at the scene after being thrown off his motorcycle.

The 70-year-old driver of the Honda Element suffered minor injuries from the crash and was transported to Mercy Hospital by Des Peres Fire and EMS.

    No other injuries were reported.
