Walmart offers a one-stop shop to help shoppers save on everyday essentials . They sell everything from freshly baked bread to canned goods and everything in between, and pretty much every type of person shops there — from frazzled to finicky and everything in between.

Here are the types of shoppers you’ll always find at Walmart. Which one are you?

Walmart Secrets: 7 genius hacks all Walmart shoppers should know

    1. The extreme couponer

Popularized by the TLC television show, extreme couponers work for hours before they step foot in the store. They come ready to spend as little at the store as possible. A clear indicator is a binder or expandable file folder full of coupons.

You make sure to avoid getting behind them in line because you know if there are any miscalculations, a manager is going to get called over so they can examine the store’s coupon policy together.

    2. The lost dad

This poor dad typically doesn’t do the shopping. He isn’t used to wrangling kids or shopping — and doing both at the same time is a bit of an overload.

He has the kids and a list but really has no idea what he’s looking for. He might be on the phone with his partner, trying to make sure he’s getting the right brand of yogurt while the kids are starting to wander.

    3. The wanderer

This is the person who just scans aisles and never puts anything in their cart. Maybe it’s boredom, or maybe they don’t know what they’re looking for.

It’s also possible they are overwhelmed by the amount of choices available at Walmart. Either way, you see these people walking around looking at things but their carts stay remarkably empty.

    4. The mom who is over it

This woman has at least three kids in tow, and they are all grabbing items off the shelf, each asking for different things. The poor woman is just here to grocery shop, but her kids are too big to fit them and the food in the cart.

Her shopping trip takes at least twice as long and feels like a full-contact sport by the time she finally makes it to the checkout stand.

    5. The regular

This person has been coming to this store for a long time now. They know the ins and outs of every aisle — and don’t even bring a list.

They're so familiar with the store and policies that they’re basically the equivalent of a store employee. You might find them giving helpful tips as they pass you in the aisles.

    6. The self-checkout novice

Technology isn’t everyone's friend. While Walmart has backed off using as many self-checkouts, most stores still have them.

If you’ve ever been stuck behind a self-checkout novice, you can feel the frustration bubbling as the number of people waiting in line grows. You must resist the urge to pop over and just complete the entire process for them.

    7. The highschooler crew

This type of shopper usually moves in a pack with three or four friends in tow. They don’t use a basket or a cart but carry an armful of stuff up to the checkout.

There may be one or two practical items in their bundle but the majority of it is made up of Mountain Dew, Flaming Hot Cheetos, and candy. You’ll hear laughing and sarcastic remarks as they move through the aisles.

They move in a cluster and tend to take over an entire checkout lane when they’re ready to pay.

    8. The chatterbox

It could be your neighbor, an old pal from high school, or a total stranger, but there is always someone who wants to stand in the aisle chatting your ear off.

It can be a struggle to extract yourself from these hum-drum conversations, so tread carefully and try to avoid eye contact.

    9. The multiple carts person

You’re not quite sure whether these people just moved into a new home and need to replace everything or they are hosting a family reunion for 25 people — either way, they are navigating Walmart with two or more carts packed full to the top.

The sheer quantities are intriguing, like 10 gallons of milk or 12 boxes of bagel bites. You start to get curious about who is going to consume all the goods in the carts and how long it will take them.

    10. The retired couple

Retirement often comes with an empty schedule. Without a 9-to-5 to guide their days, this couple pops into Walmart and proceeds to walk through every inch of the store just to see what’s new from the week before.

They grab random finds like a new garden hose, some vitamins, and a box of croissants from the bakery, but really, they are just there to help them pass the time.

    11. The multi-tasker

This person is often trying to do too many things at once. Usually dressed in professional clothes, they have headphones in and are taking work calls while searching for the best apples in the produce section.

They're often unaware of their surroundings or how loud they are talking.

    Bottom line

Even with all the characters you meet in Walmart, most people shop there to save money on groceries.

“Every day, low prices” is the cornerstone of Walmart’s pricing strategy, which means that even if you don’t shop with coupons, you can still get a good deal whenever you go.
