FRANKLIN COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) — Two people were injured in Franklin County over the weekend after crashing into a cow.
According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP), the crash happened in the westbound lanes of Highway 64 near Playmor Road at approximately 9:49 p.m. on Sunday, July 28.
Officials said a 2024 Ford F-350 was traveling west in the right lane and struck a cow that was walking in the road.

A 2024 Mitsubishi Outlander, that was traveling behind the Ford, struck the cow that was lying in the roadway and went airborne, according to a report from THP.
THP said the Mitsubishi lost control and ended up in the median. Both the 35-year-old driver and 40-year-old passenger were taken to a local hospital to be treated for what officials described as “non-life-threatening injuries.”

According to the crash report, the occupants of the Mitsubishi were not wearing their seatbelts; However, the Ford driver was.
No other information was released.
