When Mom Collapses, Quick-Thinking 6-Year Old Dashes To Delivery Driver For Help

A mom in Northern Ireland is feeling incredibly grateful to her 6-year-old boy for leaping into action to save her after she fainted. Elizabeth Crooks, 26, was at home with her kids when she began to feel extremely dizzy. Since her partner was at work, she asked her mother to come over. However, she lost consciousness while waiting for her to arrive by bus.

That’s when 6-year-old Aidan knew it was time to get help. Luckily, a delivery driver happened to be dropping off a package at that moment. When the little boy ran to collect it, he asked the grown-up if he could help him save his mom.

Without hesitation, the delivery driver followed the child into the yard. He immediately called emergency services to report the woman’s condition. It wasn’t long before an ambulance arrived to transport the unconcious mother to the hospital.

The family’s doorbell camera captured the entire interaction. Since then, the video has been going viral online! People are incredibly impressed with the way that this little boy handled the scary situation. Elizabeth told Belfast Live that she’s “so proud” of her son.

“My partner was at work,” said the mom of three. “It was actually my birthday of all days, the 20th of July. I woke up and felt generally unwell. I was tired, fatigued. I decided not to go out with the kids, to stay in — just in case. I felt a bit dizzy and normally it settles when you lie down, but it just wasn’t settling down. I started to get really, really dizzy and I thought ‘I’m going to pass out here.'”

She continued, “I saw the video the next morning. It was so heartwarming to see how calm my son was, how he even said ‘excuse me’, but most importantly the Amazon driver didn’t hesitate — he did just come and help.”

Doctors believe that Elizabeth’s fainting spell may have been caused by POTS (Postural tachycardia syndrome), but they have yet to confirm it. Previously, they had diagnosed her with FND (Functional Neurological Disorder).

Although Aidan did a great job getting help for his mom, Elizabeth doesn’t want the young boy to have to save her again. So, she’s raising money on GoFundMe to install a panic button at her home. She’s also hoping to use some of those funds to repay the delivery driver who came to her rescue.
