    The year is halfway through and Thai drama viewers have enjoyed several gripping BL (Boy Love) and GL (Girl Love) shows. July 2024 was another spectacular month as series like The Secret of Us took over the internet. From some stars’ sizzling on-screen chemistry to suspenseful plotlines, several popular dramas have continued to keep viewers hooked. On that note, here’s a look at the Thai BL & GL series recommendations for July 2024.

    This Love Doesn’t Have Long Beans

    This Love Doesn’t Have Long Beans premiered on July 5, 2024, starring Sailub Hemmawich Kwanamphaiphan and Pon Thanapon Aiemkumchai. Plawan (Pon), a model, gets offered a huge amount to join a competition in a restaurant with a secret mission—to train under a well-known chef and become his successor. However, he’s set for several challenges as he comes across Chef Oab (Sailub), a serious perfectionist known to be harsh in his kitchen. Nonetheless, the cooking competition brings Plawan and Oab closer.

    The Secret of Us

    Lingling Sirilak Kwong and Orm Kornnaphat Sethratanapong’s Thai GL series The Secret of Us premiered on June 24, 2024. It stands among the hugely popular ongoing Thai dramas. The storyline follows Fahlada (Ling) and Earn (Orm), who met and fell in love while studying abroad. Due to certain circumstances, the latter was forced to leave the former and break her heart. Years later, Fahlada, now a doctor, comes across Earn again when she appears as a presenter at the hospital where the former works. Following the devastating split, Fahlada started to hate Earn deeply. Despite that, the latter has set her mind on winning her love back.

    The Trainee

    The Trainee premiered on June 30, 2024, starring Off Jumpol Adulkittiporn and Gun Atthaphan Phunsawat. The storyline follows a university student, Ryan (Gun), who begins his internship as an assistant director under Jane (Off), who is known to be cold. As the former continues to train under the latter, Ryan soon learns there’s a kind side to Jane and he isn’t as harsh as people think he is. The pair eventually gets close as they work together.

    Love Sea The Series

    Fort Thitipong Sangngey and Peat Wasuthorn Chaijindar’s new Thai BL Love Sea The Series premiered on June 9, 2024, and continues to win over viewers. The storyline sees Tongrak (Peat), an elite author, visiting an island to find inspiration for his new novel. There, he comes across the free-spirited island boy, Mahasamut (Fort), tasked to tend to the author’s needs. Despite constantly getting on each other’s nerves, the two soon get involved intimately.

    Love Sea The Series is available to watch on iQIYI.

    Wandee Goodday

    Wandee Goodday ended its run in July after premiering earlier this year. It stars Great Sapol Assawamunkong as Yoryak and Inn Sarin Ronnakiat as Wandee. After getting rejected by his long-time crush for being “too vanilla,” Wandee decided to go wild drinking, which ended with him getting involved with Yoryak, a Muay Thai fighter. The pair’s one-night stand soon turned into a friends-with-benefits relationship. Yoryak and Wandee’s feelings also started to grow as they brought comfort to each other.

    Aside from the above, the popular Thai BL dramas My Stand-In and We Are also met their conclusion in July 2024. My Stand-In kept watchers hooked till the end with its suspenseful storyline. Meanwhile, We Are’s friendship and romance turned out to be a heartwarming watch.
