Cody Ko has finally issued a public statement regarding the underage allegations Tana Mongeau made about him .

Tana first made the allegations during a live recording of her Cancelled podcast in Sacramento, California, in May for her nationwide tour. In a "hot seat" segment, the YouTuber was asked a question about the "smallest d---" she ever had sex with and she replied: "Oh, my God, no one look at me. Cody Ko." Then Tana elaborated by stating, "I can say that, I was literally 17."

This moment was caught on video and spread throughout social media. Tana reiterated the allegations and talked more about the situation on her podcast , which she co-hosts with best friend Brooke Schofield. She clarified: "I hooked up with Cody Ko when I was 17, and he was 25. Yeah, it happened."

In the episode, she reflected on the situation and how, looking at it now, she realized how wrong Cody was. She then wondered why he did that and described their hookup as a "crime." She also shared how fellow YouTuber and singer Gabbie Hanna warned him at a Playlist Live convention that Tana was a minor.

“I can look at that and be, like, ‘Why the f--- were you doing that?’ But there isn’t a part of me at 25 now—I mean, I look back and I would never do anything like that. So I’m like, ‘What the f--- was wrong with you?" Tana said.

Cody has kept tight-lipped throughout, while still making YouTube videos on his second channel and DJing until he has now finally made a public statement that alluded to the allegations. The statement was from his podcast network company he co-founded with Noel Miller, called Tiny Meat Gang Studios.

The statement began by thanking fans for their patience as the company figures out their next steps forward. They called it a "strenuous few weeks for everyone." They continued by praising their staff and talent. Then the statement talked about the change they will be enacting with the father-of-one due to the allegations, which are not directly named or addressed.

"As we enter into this next phase of the studio, we wanted to let you know that Cody will not be involved in the day-to-day operations at TMG Studios. What has transpired over the past few weeks is a personal issue for him," the statement said. "And Cody wants to remove any effect this is having on your professional and personal lives and the work you and our other hosts have done to make TMG Studios so successful."

"Noel will continue to lead the team. His top priority remains the life and growth of the studio and its talent. Our audience sees your hard work every week and we want that to continue. They deserve it and so do you. We have built something truly special and he’s committed to keeping that alive and well," the statement concluded.

Dexerto reported on July 26 that Cody had lost over 300,000 subscribers on his main channel.
