The worst feeling for athletes is when a bad call affects your game. Coco Gauff experienced it first-hand during her third-round game against Donna Vekic in the Olympics.

During the match, the umpire called a ball out before Gauff could return the ball. That caused the American to miss her shot. However, Gauff believed that the ball was in and that the missed call interfered with her attempt.

Gauff pleaded her case to the umpire, but to no avail. At one point, the American was heard saying, "It always happens to me on this court," clearly frustrated with the umpire's decision.

Gauff was already having a tough match against Vekic, as the Serbian was dominating the American star. Just when Gauff felt like she could make a run, she was saddled by this incident. Her frustration at the moment is quite understandable.

Fans sympathized with Gauff and echoed their frustration at the umpire's costly decision.

Gauff's frustration eventually led to her being eliminated after two sets. Regardless, the American star still had a historic event. She was the flag-bearer for Team USA and made it to the third round in her first Olympics.

Hopefully, this will be a learning lesson for the young star. She's only 20 years old playing in a high-pressure tournament. Gauff will learn from this tournament and come back stronger.
