Lady Gaga is "happier than ever" following her engagement to Michael Polansky, according to a source .

The 38-year-old singer and the entrepreneur are currently in Paris for the Olympic Games and a source has said Gaga is absolutely thrilled after getting engaged earlier this year . "It sounds cheesy to say she is happier than ever, but she really is," the source said.

The Just Dance singer, real name Stefani Germanotta, has been romantically linked to Michael since 2020 and recently let slip about their engagement. The source continued: "She was in a dark space before she met him but he has been a steady, reliable and loving presence in her life, something she hasn't had for a long time."

Speaking to The Sun , the source added: "He isn't in showbiz and isn't fussed about all the glitz and glamour and that's been monumental for Stefani." Gaga let slip news of her engagement as she introduced Michael to the French Prime Minister Gabriel Attal while at the 2024 Olympic Games.

In a TikTok video posted by the prime minister, Gaga can be heard telling him that Michael was "my fiancé." Prime Minister Attal captioned the video: "Thank you Lady Gaga for your stunning performance at the Opening Ceremony. It was breathtaking."

Gaga played a pivotal role in the Olympics opening ceremony, performing a rendition of 'Mon Truc En Plumes'. However, some fans weren't happy that the segment had been pre-recorded.

It was later explained that the performance had to be pre-recorded due to concerns for Gaga's safety due to the heavy rain in Paris. Following her performance, the chart-topping star took to social media to express her sense of pride.

Gaga posted on Instagram: "I feel so completely grateful to have been asked to open the Paris @Olympics 2024 this year. I am also humbled to be asked by the Olympics organizing committee to sing such a special French song-a song to honor the French people and their tremendous history of art, music, and theatre. (sic)."

The singer also said she was determined to "celebrate French art and music" with her performance. She expressed: "Although I am not a French artist, I have always felt a very special connection with French people and singing French music-I wanted nothing more than to create a performance that would warm the heart of France, celebrate French art and music, and on such a momentous occasion remind everyone of one of the most magical cities on earth-Paris. (sic)".
