GoFundMe Launched For Abdullah The Butcher

This past weekend, it was unfortunately reported that Lawrence Shreve, better known as Abdullah the Butcher to pro wrestling fans, had been hospitalized. At the time, details were sparse, but it’s understood the WWE Hall of Famer is suffering from a bleeding ulcer and needs hip replacement surgery. Additionally, it is noted that he is on the verge of losing his home of almost 50 years. Therefore, it comes as no surprise that a GoFundMe has been launched to assist the 83-year-old in his time of need, with the current target set at $20,000.

Canadian-born Shreve broke into the business in 1958 and became a star due to his bloodthirsty madman gimmick, capturing the attention of fans worldwide.  Due to his distinctive look and barbarity, he would both fascinate and disgust fans, resulting in him making plenty of money for himself and promoters. However, he has since lost everything, including his famed restaurant, with it later revealed all his assets had been put in his now ex-wife’s name.
