There are moments in life when we find ourselves in the right place at the right time. This was the case when an adorable baby donkey was born. His premature birth caused his mother to immediately reject him, but divine timing led to his rescue, and now he is thriving in the life he was meant for.
His bright and spunky energy can lighten the darkest mood. Check out the charming little fellow in this video from July 23:
Oh, sweet Cash, it’s easy to see how you’ve become a beloved house Donkey . His mom explains he was born unexpectedly and prematurely. Sadly, moments after his birth, his mother rejected him and began to stomp on him. Thankfully, his human mom was there to save the day and threw herself on top of him for protection. After his parents (@ oursimple.homestead ) had him checked by the vet and got the milk he needed to survive, he became part of the family. This meant feeding him by bottle every two hours, which his mom likens to having a newborn. Thankfully, it didn’t take long before he found his strength, and as we can see from his energetic zoomies, his life turned out pretty terrific. I could watch him zip around all day!

Why Do Some Animals Reject Their Newborns?
Some theories suggest that this instinctive behavior ensures that only the strongest survive. Mothers may cull or reject offspring that are ill, weak, or deformed. This can prevent the spread of disease and allocate resources to healthier offspring with a better chance of survival. While it may be disturbing and challenging to understand, according to BBC Science Focus Magazine, it’s often done to protect their current and future children. Luckily, in this case, the timing was perfect for Cash to be saved, and it’s clear that doing so has touched the lives of everyone around him.
This playful donkey entertained everyone. One person responded, “He doesn’t know where he’s going, but he’s making great time!” He sure is! Although we may never know why his mother rejected him, he never has to worry about being abandoned again. The joy and happiness he has brought to his family will continue, and thankfully, they have also shared it with us.
