NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Severe storms continue overnight. We now have a Severe T’Storm Watch for portions of Middle TN until 2 a.m. Wednesday morning. This risk is primarily for wind gusts & heavy rainfall, but hail and isolated tornadoes are possible.
Severe Thunderstorm Watch
The Storm Prediction Center has a Slight Risk (2/5) for severe weather overnight in most of Middle TN and all of Southern KY, with a Marginal Risk (1/5) for the west-southwestern parts of Middle TN. Wednesday, there is a Marginal Risk (1/5) for areas along and east of I-24.
Damaging winds, hail, heavy rain, and even an isolated tornado can’t be ruled out with any of these rounds of storms.
A Marginal Risk (level 1 out of 5) for severe weather has been issued for Thursday. Stronger storms could continue to develop throughout the day on Thursday.
Dangerous heat increasing
Dangerous heat is another concern this week. An Excessive Heat Warning is in effect for Henry, Carroll, Benton, and Decatur Counties from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday. A Heat Advisory is in effect for most of Middle TN & Southern KY from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday.
Feels like temps could range from 100-115 Wednesday and expect more of the same Thursday. If you are working or playing outdoors, you should wear light-colored clothing and a hat, take frequent breaks in the shade, and drink plenty of water.
