Alexia Nepola on ‘Awkward’ Gina Kirschenheiter and Travis Mullen Dynamic

Travis Mullen recently moved out of Gina Kirschenheiter’s townhouse on Real Housewives of Orange County . They are still going strong, but their dynamics have shifted, as dynamics do with time. Likewise, blended families are often wrought with additional stressors, and sometimes, taking a step back is the only way to move forward. It’s been awkward to watch, much less live, and if you ask Real Housewives of Miami star Alexia Nepola , she agrees.

Alexia notes Gina and Travis’ cringy RHOC dynamics

Appearing on Teddi Mellencamp and Tamra Judge’s Two Ts In A Pod podcast, Alexia recalled what went down on RHOC. “So Travis moved out, but they’re still together as a couple, which I find even more awkward,” Alexia explains. She then asks, “How do you take that back?”

Not waiting for a response, Alexia then noted that Gina and Travis “were like a family unit.” But “now they’re gonna be kind of like boyfriend-girlfriend?” At this, Teddi stated that her “guess is this was kind of Gina’s way to pull away a little bit. And decide how she feels alone.”

“A little too late,” Alexa quipped. She then stressed that “once you move in with a person and you’re with them for so many years, and you involve your children,” things get messy. However, Alexia also gave Gina the benefit of the doubt. Overall, Alexia gets it, as her dynamics with her ex, Todd Nepola , are equally taxing.

“She may be going through some changes,” Alexia relents. These changes do not include “a change of heart,” she adds. However, as Gina is “stronger today than when she got into her relationship,” maybe this is solely her time to step back and reflect.

Stirring the pot, Teddi asks, “But don’t you think she’s stringing him along?” Alexia’s response was simple. “No, no,” she answered.

Alexia gets it. Relationships are never black and white. In time, Gina and Travis will sort their stuff out. Until then, all we can do is sit back and watch everything transpire, hoping both end up happy and well.
