It's not been a good month for Microsoft users. First, there was the CrowdStrike issue which knocked millions of PCs offline now the US technology giant has confirmed it's having issues with its 365 service.

Xbox users are also complaining that they are suffering when trying to play titles such as Minecraft although it's unclear if the two problems are linked. In a post on social media , the company said: "We are investigating reports of issues connecting to Microsoft services globally."

The gremlins appear to have begun at around 2pm BST and are still ongoing over an hour later. Down Detector, which monitors outages across the globe is currently showing over 1,000 reports that Microsoft 365 is down.

More worryingly is the amount of people who can't access Minecraft right now with over 2,000 reports flooding in from across the UK alone. Venting their frustration at the gaming outage, one user named Woody said: "I wanted to spend some time on Minecraft but noooo Microsoft decided to be down."

And another called Mary added: "I can't sign into my Microsoft Account to play Minecraft on my Nintendo Switch. Are they down?" It's unclear what is causing the latest meltdown or when it will be fixed.

It comes after a global outage wreaked havoc across America, locking countless individuals out of their bank accounts, causing hospital cancelations and even grounding flights .

The notorious Blue Screen of Death was popping up everywhere, from banks to supermarkets and media outlets, causing widespread panic and confusion. All United, Delta and American Airlines flights were grounded amid the chaos.

Microsoft issued a statement on the issue and said: “Our services are still seeing continuous improvements while we continue to take mitigation actions,” Microsoft later added on X: “We still expect that users will continue to see gradual relief as we continue to mitigate the issue.”
