Cute Moment Great Dane Meets His Grandma Is As Sweet As It Gets

Great Danes really are gentle giants. Despite their impressive size, they have the sweetest way about them, they're just big lovers. Just ask Lenny the Great Dane, who's meeting Grandma for the first time. He's using all his manners and being the best boy.

In the sweetest July 28 TikTok video shared by @meg_and_lenny , the Great Dane is a patient and gentle pup while Grandma gets a first look at him. Watch their meeting below!

"Captured the silly moment Lenny had meeting my 90-year-old grandmother last year after adopting him," the caption says. "She’s been struggling with dementia, and Lenny was so calm & gentle and my grandmother loved him. I’ll hold this moment close with me for a long while."

The 25-second clip shows Lenny laying on the floor as Grandma walks in to see her "surprise." She asks "what is this?" to which Meg responds, "This is my dog." Grandma is in shock wondering how big he is, adding she's never seen one that large. While Meg tries to get Lenny to stand up and "say hi," he continues laying, quiet and calm, so not to scare Grandma.

"What kind of dog is that?" she asks. When Meg says he's a Great Dane, Grandma responds with, "Well, he certainly is!"

The pure interaction has Lenny's fans in their feelings, and rightfully so!

"He knows she’s the baby and he is the bigger dude. He’s caring for his sweet gma," one person noted. "Sweet dog said “let grandma sit before I stand,” another said. "He certainly is… MY HEART," another added.

Lenny is a true gentleman. We're sure he and Grandma became fast friends after this.

Great Danes Are Big, But Friendly

" The Apollo of Dogs " certainly look threatening due to their height, but they're generally known to be gentle giants. The American Kennel Club notes the breed is sociable , friendly and eager to please. Though they can weigh as much as their pet parents at 145-175 pounds and grow to be 30-32 inches tall, they are affectionate, loyal, and intelligent dogs. Because of their size, socialization and training is important so they don't overpower visitors.

They have a reputation of being good with children because they'e so patient and friendly, but can also make a great home guardian.

Lenny looks to be the perfect example of the breed's temperament and Grandma agrees! He sure is a "great" Dane!
