Tabletop RPG fans using both Discord and Roll20 are about to have their TTRPG experience streamlined into one app with new integration.

Over the past 24 hours, Roll20 and Discord have officially announced a partnership of sorts that aims to streamline TTRPG experiences by allowing fans to deploy one application rather than two on game night. This is limited to those who play online and is a notable boon for those who use tools to streamline the experience or Discord to communicate with team members efficiently.

The new integration is supported by Windows, Mac OS, and Linux, and it is accessible via the Discord desktop client or web application but not on mobile devices. Roll20 has even launched a tutorial video on how easy the integration is, and it can be seen below.

Starting today, TTRPG enthusiasts can deploy only Discord, and they will have the opportunity to launch Roll20 within the Discord client as an “Activity”, granting the channel access to all of the databases, maps, rulebooks and all other goodies Roll20 provides within Discord. Only one app is needed now. This comes on the heels of the latest update overhaul Roll20 provided to its servers in late June 2024, which was directly inspired by player feedback and completely altered the way subscribers see the site.

It’s worth noting the integration also supports nine of the application’s game systems:

    • Dungeons & Dragons ,
    • Marvel Multiverse Role-Playing Game ,
    • Call of Cthulhu ,
    • Cyberpunk RED ,
    • Pathfinder Second Edition ,
    • 13th Age ,
    • Dune: Adventures in the Imperium ,
    • Warhammer Fantasy Role-Play ,
    • Alien: The Roleplaying Game .

Those who have already created characters or started campaigns don’t need to worry either. Fans who have just started new campaigns can access all existing campaigns, characters, and marketplace content from their accounts. Fans also don’t have to be a subscriber to access the activity on Discord, streamlining access further.

The only caveat of the new integration is fans must have Discord open, and logged in. Every player must be in the same voice channel on Discord for an optimal activity experience. This new integration has been rolled out and is available today. Fans can check out the official announcement page on Roll20’s official website .
