Stephen Nedoroscik Goes Viral After Winning First U.S. Men’s Gymnastics Medal In 16 Years, Watch!

There is nothing quite like watching someone’s life-long dream come true. On July 29, all eyes were on the United States men’s gymnastics team as they competed for the team’s first medal in the sport in 16 years. This was a team effort, but one gymnast sealed the deal for the Americans.

Stephen Nedoroscik, 25, has dedicated his training to a singular event, and all eyes were on him as he approached the pommel horse on Monday during the all-around competition.

Ahead of the games, he told the Associated Press , “I don’t know how I don’t lose my mind. But every day I go into the gym, and there’s still something to do. There’s still something to improve.”

When It Was Time To Perform on Monday, Stephen Nedoroscik Was Ready

His teammates, Frederick Richard, Brody Malone, Paul Juda, and Asher Hong, had impressive routines and put the team in medal contention, but to ensure they’d have hardware around their necks for the first time since 2008, Stephen had to perform.

From the second his routine began, Stephen was brilliant. He moved his body seemingly effortlessly around the horse. His teammates watched in anticipation, knowing that if he could nail the routine, they’d be wearing medals home. And Stephen positively killed it.

Stephen Nedoroscik knew he’d done his job before he was finished. Excitement beamed from his face as he celebrated with a fist pump in the air and a celebration with his teammates.

After his dismount, cameras panned the arena, where the crowds went wild. His parents cried watching their son’s dream come true. It was hard not to share their joy and shed a tear of American pride watching these men celebrate a well-deserved bronze medal.

It’s not over for Stephen. He will compete in the individual finals on Saturday and have a chance to bring home a second medal. We will be watching!
