Avengers Doomsday Heading Into Production Next Year

Avengers: Doomsday may have a release date, but it is not yet in production.

Set to head to theaters on May 1, 2026, the film – formerly titled Avengers: The Kang Dynasty – will begin filming during the second quarter of 2025 in London, as per Variety .

The previous two Avengers films were shot in Atlanta, but this time, Marvel is heading overseas to shoot, which Shawn Levy also did with the recently released Deadpool & Wolverine .

Anthony and Joe Russo are in the directors' chairs for Avengers: Doomsday and will also helm Avengers: Secret Wars , which has its release set for May 2027.

Further details on Avengers: Doomsday are sparse, but Stephen McFeely, who was responsible for writing Avengers: Endgame , Avengers: Infinity War and Captain America: The Winter Soldier , will pen the screenplay.

The confirmed cast includes The Fantastic Four 's Joseph Quinn, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, and the newly announced Robert Downey Jr., who has been cast as Doctor Doom .

Marvel is known for its sneaky surprises, so we imagine that's all we'll be getting for the time being, but Avengers: Doomsday will surely be one of the most anticipated releases in 2026.
