    Greece small forward Giannis Antetokounmpo.

On Tuesday, Spain secured its first Olympic win, overcoming Greece 84-77 . Greece has now lost both tournament-opening games, falling to Canada on Saturday. Spain is 1-1 after losing to Australia on Saturday.

Here are three takeaways from Tuesday's game.

    1. Spain's depth shines through

What Spain lacks in elite talent, they make up for in depth. The Spanish team doesn't have the All-Stars of years past. However, they boast high-level Euro League talent with a sprinkling of NBA experience. Against Greece, Spain's depth paid dividends. Four players hit double digits in scoring, with another three finishing one bucket away from adding to that tally.

Spain rode their versatility and depth to a win. Whether they can continue finding advantages with their lineups and substitution combinations remains to be seen. They don't project to be an easy out and could find themselves embarking on a deep run.

    2. Giannis Antetokounmpo needs more help

Giannis isn't just the best player on the Greek team; he's their only reliable weapon on both sides of the floor. Giannis recorded a high-scoring double-double for the second straight game, yet the lack of support on the rest of Greece's roster ensured that his efforts went unrewarded.

Greece must find ways to give Giannis additional support, especially on the offensive end. Outside of the Milwaukee Bucks star, only Vasilis Toliopoulos made an impact, ending the game with 14 points. If Giannis doesn't get more assistance in the coming games, Greece's tenure at the Olympics will be short-lived and forgettable.

    3. Santi Aldama is emerging as Spain's best player

Aldama is a genuine NBA talent. Last season, he played 61 games for the Memphis Grizzlies, averaging 10.7 points, 5.8 rebounds and 2.3 assists. Against Greece, Aldama dropped 19 points and pulled down 12 rebounds. He is emerging as Spain's clear-cut best player, followed by veteran Rudy Fernandez.

Spain's next game is against Canada on Aug. 2. If he can have another strong performance against one of the best teams in the competition, there will be no doubt of who Spain's defacto leader is for the years to come.
