The first reviews for Batman: Caped Crusader are starting to land ahead of the new series launching on Prime Video on August 1, and already the hype is real because the show has debuted with a 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

There may only be six reviews as of right now, but the series is getting some worthy praise in its first reviews, with mild critiques.

Witney Seibold of SlashFilm calls it "the best piece of Batman media in a decade" and says it "expands on the 1992 series in every way, emerging as the superior show".

Gavia Baker-Whitelaw of TV Guide disagrees, however, saying it "can't possibly have the same impact as its iconic predecessor" but is "well executed but conventional, remixing a winning formula in a way that should please a wide swath of fans".

Many noted the short length of the show, as the series runs with ten 24-minute episodes.

Baker-Whitelaw noted that "isn't much to work with" and said, "For better or worse, its structure is firmly rooted in streaming-era trends", and Elijah Gonzalez of Paste said, "This story needed a few more episodes to reach its full potential".

Brian Tallerico of rogerebert.com says, "In a time when superhero culture seems dominated by multiverses, there's something charming about a property that seeks to recreate what comic book readers fell in love with almost a century ago."

Batman: Caped Crusader captures the transformation of Bruce Wayne into "The Batman" and serves as a re-imagining of the Batman mythology.

From executive producers J.J. Abrams, Matt Reeves and Bruce Timm, the series features a stellar voice cast, including Hamish Linklater, Mckenna Grace, Minnie Driver, Toby Stephens, Haley Joel Osment, Christina Ricci, Jamie Chung, David Krumholtz, and Jason Watkins.

Batman: Caped Crusader lands on Prime Video on August 1.
