Clare Hooper ( @clarehooper ) is fab at 50 thanks to her natural skincare tricks.

She showed in an Instagram Reel how she used three ingredients commonly found in your home to care for her toes.

“POV: You found a novel way to keep your 50-year-old feet fresh and smooth all summer,” the on-screen text said.

With her helpful hack , you no longer need to visit a nail salon for soft and smooth soles.

Clare invited viewers into her living room and poured a blue liquid into a bucket of steaming hot water.

“Your eyes do not deceive you. White vinegar and cheap mouthwash will always and forever be my go-to foot smoothie,” she explained in the caption.

After a day working hard in the garden, she admitted that often, her “feet are filthy and drier than the Sahara desert.”

Previously, she attempted several other methods to maintain them but didn’t want to break the bank over it.

“I’ve tried all sorts,” she said.

But the DIY queen said she likes to keep things “cheap and cheerful” which is exactly what this process is.

    STEP-BY-STEP

First, she said she likes to “measure with her heart” when it comes to the amount of water she uses.

“It’s about 2 liters of warm water,” she explained.

But Clare said you can place your toes in “whatever temp you can enjoy” or are comfortable with.

Next, add a “generous glug” of white vinegar to the mixture.

Lastly, toss in half a bottle of mouthwash to complete the concoction.

Treat it like a spa day.

Don’t forget to moisturize them after to bring out their smooth texture.

    REAL REACTIONS

Clare said to soak your toes for as long as you want, but other Instagram users weren’t convinced.

“Oh yes, I swear by this, once a year just before summer. It has even managed to improve my husband’s manky feet too,” a woman commented.

    She also shared useful advice.

“One tip though, use mouthwash with a neutral color. Once left my feet in too long and ended up with a green tinge,” she said.

She wasn’t the only one who went through a similar scenario.

Another Instagram user said the mouthwash mixture turned their feet into “Smurf feet.”

The comment section was also filled with excited words from viewers who had already tried it.

“This is a highly regarded method for helping athletes with athlete’s foot as well,” one advised.

“I saw this on Pinterest ten years ago, tried it, and swore by it for a while. Thank you for reminding me!” someone wrote.
