The Friends star shared this video on her Instagram account on Sunday, July 28, and in the clip you see Cox with an unknown person placing their hands on top of one another and her King Cavalier Spaniel going under the hands and wandering off. Cox captioned the funny video with, 'She’s cute. She’s got that going for her."

People in the comments are cracking up over this adorable fail and one person said, "Now that is so cute and adorable!" Another added, "Listen, the dog was just totally no in the mood. I get it." Someone else said, 'He's too sophisticated a breed to be involved in such shenanigans."

If you'd like to try this cute trick with your own pup, some dogs just know what is expected of them and nail this challenge on the first try. Others need a little help!

How To Teach Your Dog This Simple Trick

Courteney Cox's pup is not the first dog to fail this challenge, because some dogs just don't instinctually understand that their humans want them to put their paws on top of their hands. Like the Samoyed above, who chooses to place his paw on his fur siblings head!

One of the first steps to take is to figure out what motivates your dog. Are they food motivated, and will basically do anything for a treat? Are they praise motivated, and love being told they are a good boy? or are they play motivated, and will do anything for a game of fetch after accomplishing a trick? Is your dog a big love bug? There are dogs out there that just want to be touched! Some pups even prefer petting over vocal praise ! Taking a moment to give your dog some love between them working and training with you is a great way to build up positivity around cues!Figure out what your own dog loves best, then you reward them accordingly.

If your dog knows how to shake first, this trick is a lot easier to master. If your dog does know how to shake it could be as easy as saying shake once the human's hands are on top of each other.

You could also try hiding a treat in the palm of the human who puts their hand on top.

If that doesn't work, gently place your dog's paw on top of your hands and reward them according to what they like best. They should be able to figure out this trick in no time! And even if they don't? They will still look pretty cute trying and failing!
