Christina Applegate continues to be very open about her personal struggles, especially when it comes to living with multiple sclerosis , but she recently revealed the "only plastic surgery" she's ever had and the pressure that led her to undergo the procedure.

On the newest episode of Applegate and Jamie-Lynn Sigler 's podcast, MeSsy , the Dead to Me actress began the show by bringing up an incident years ago, when a director commented on her physical appearance in a show and said, "We had to spend a lot of money to fix that...the studio was really upset."

"They literally erased my face," Applegate said, before revealing that the first and only time she had plastic surgery was when she was only 27 years old to get the bags under her eyes removed.

Opening up about what led to the decision, she said, "I was on a show and one of the producers, [a] very famous [person] who did a very famous show as well, said, ‘Hey we’re having a lot of trouble lighting under your eyes. The bags under your eyes are so big...I suggest you get them removed.'"

"And you know what? I did. At 27 years old," Applegate said, before noting the effect comments such as those from the producer have on people. "These seeds they plant into your head...Our shame."

Applegate explained that the bags under her eyes were hereditary, noting that her father has the same feature. The conversation went on, with Applegate and Sigler talking about shame in detail and noting that "we all have value" no matter what we look like.

When the actress was 27, she was just starting her run on the series Jesse , although Applegate didn't confirm what show she was talking about in the podcast. Before Jesse , Applegate starred in Married... with Children between 1987 and 1997.
