The women's gymnastics team final got off to a rough start for Brazilian gymnast Flavia Saraiva.

During her warmup session on the uneven bars, Saraiva botched a transition and landed flat on her face. Her collision with the mat resulted in a large cut on her eyebrow and a massive black eye.

After laying on the mat for a few moments, Saraiva was patched up and treated by Brazil's medical trainers.

Saraiva was able to fight through this injury in continue her participation in Tuesday's team final.

Saraiva, 24, is competing in her third Olympics after making her debut at Rio in 2016. She suffered an ankle injury during floor qualifications at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, but battled through that injury as well to participate in the balance beam event final.

Team Brazil, which features gymnastics superstar and All-Around contender Rebeca Andrade, is a medal hopeful in Tuesday's team final.
