    Dune star set to join Cillian Murphy in the upcoming Peaky Blinders film

    One of the stars from Dune will join Cillian Murphy in the upcoming Peaky Blinders film. Rebecca Ferguson has been confirmed as the newest cast member of the gritty drama series chronicling the dark world of Tommy Shelby.

    The movie, which has been developed off the back of the hit BBC series which first aired in 2013 and ran for six seasons, will follow the Birmingham gang as they continue their quest to elude authorities and make money.

    Ferguson starred in the Dune franchise alongside Zendaya and Timothée Chalamet and will next feature in season two of Apple sci-fi series Silo and sci-fi thriller Mercy for Amazon MGM that will see her star opposite Chris Pratt.

    The 40-year-old Swedish actress' role is being kept under wraps , as are wider plot details. There is speculation Murphy's character will be older and wiser, though.

    The Cork native previously said: “ If we want to watch 50-year-old Tommy Shelby , I will be there. Let’s do it.” Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight penned the screenplay while Tom Harper is at the helm.

    Knight added: “It will be an explosive chapter in the Peaky Blinders story. No holds barred. Full-on Peaky Blinders at war.”

    Meanwhile, the cast of a new Netflix show about the infamous Guinness family has been revealed . Steve Knight is heading up House of Guinness , a major new Netflix drama centred on one of Ireland’s biggest dynasties.

    The drama focuses on the epic story of one of Europe’s most famous and enduring dynasties — the Guinness family. Set in 19th-century Dublin and New York, the story will focus on the consequences of Benjamin Guinness' death.
