Los Angeles Chargers may soon come to certain realization with Quentin Johnston

For all of the talk we have heard about how Quentin Johnston could be in for a major resurgence in year two in the NFL and all of the praise that Los Angeles Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh seems to heap on him, it seems just as likely that he won't realize all of that potential.

The Chargers seem thrilled with what they have in second-round pick Ladd McConkey as the replacement for Keenan Allen, but Johnston is listed as the W4, which is not ideal for a first-round pick in his second year.

There have been many reports of dropped passes at camp by Johnston, something that plagued him as a rookie.

This does not bode well for Johnston as he tries to redeem himself after a poor rookie season. And the three players he is behind, aside from McConkey, aren't necessarily world beaters in Joshua Palmer and D.J. Chark.

Quentin Johnston may not be what Jim Harbaugh says he is to the media

Harbaugh has said things like Johnston "got a bad wrap" last season and that he is one of the team's "best players" but the results on the field are not supporting that.

This could leave the Chargers coming to one realization... maybe he's just not very good.

Johnston will need to show he can reliably catch the ball for the remainder of training camp and in the preseason within this new offense. If he can't, he will likely be spending a lot of time this season watching McConkey, Palmer and Chark do it from the sidelines.
