Recently, General Hospital star Kirsten Storms (Maxie) changed addresses, and she revealed that her new home came with a perk she’s particularly liking: a kitchen that has inspired her to try out lots of new recipes for her and her daughter, Harper Rose!

“I just moved, and it’s become kinda clear that I love my new kitchen,” the GH star confessed on Instagram. “I can’t stop making Southern food for Harps. She’s digging it and the smells remind me of my childhood.”

Storms, who grew up in the Orlando area of Florida, shares custody of her daughter with ex-husband Brandon Barash (Stefan, Days of Our Lives), so Harper splits her time between her mom’s home and her dad’s house. And based on the photos Storms shared in her post, the ladies are eating well on the nights that Harper is with her mom!

“I’m getting pretty good at homemade chicken pot pie. This version was definitely the best so far,” Storms shared, then moving on to a delicious-looking dessert. “Which I only ever make when I have Harper because… well, she’s 10,” the actress pointed out. “I made baked peaches with pecan ice cream and homemade whipped cream.”

As it turns out, Storms’ homemade whipped cream can be used for more than a dessert topping. “Don’t sleep on this, guys,” she told her followers. “It’s incredible and really good on coffee in the morning. Stores well in a container, too.”

Rounding out her recent culinary creations, Storms made a colorful breakfast and a hearty comfort dish. “Pink waffles for Harper were a breakfast hit and surprisingly so was the red beans and rice I made. Of course, served with cornbread.”

Wrapping up her post, Storms concluded that she was grateful to have a dining partner with a palate that expands beyond typical kid fare like pizza. “Thankful to have been blessed with a child who’s willing to try new foods.”

We will be patiently waiting over here for our dinner invitation…
