Soap stars often have many talents that go beyond just acting. Like many other actors, The Young & The Restless Paxton Mishkind (Johnny) is musically inclined, playing guitar, drums, and singing. But the young performer recently showed off his comedic skills with a couple of clips from a recent stand-up performance at the Los Angeles performing arts theater Loft Ensemble!

“Amazing time doing stand-up last week at Loft Ensemble!” he wrote. “Huge shout out to Mary Kennedy for all the coaching and the incredibly funny Cathy Ladman for headlining the show! So grateful for the experience!”

The first clip shows Mishkind talking about a family trip that took them to a Buc-ee’s, which he describes as “a gas station the size of a Wal-Mart. So my grandpa is just freaking out over the fact that they’re selling adult diapers next to Skittles next to grenades.” He also shares his grandmother’s catchphrase, “I don’t understand, but that’s okay.” In the second clip, he talks about how taking pictures today is so much easier than in the old days, describing what it was like getting a family snapshot back in the ‘20s.

Mishkind took over the role of Johnny Abbott on Y &R from twins Holden and Ryan Hare back in September 2022, and has played all kinds of drama as Johnny discovered that Chelsea was his biological mother, making Connor his half-brother. But now that we’ve seen how well he can do comedy and funny voices, we’d love to see Johnny in a lighter storyline so he can show off those chops on the soap!

But don’t be surprised if you see Mishkind in a sitcom before too long — he’d be great!
