Question: Is there an update to Amazon gift cards disappearing from NY stores? Will they return?

Viewers around NY, noticed the cards missing from store aisles beginning in early July .

An Amazon spokesperson told the Your Stories Team that the company occasionally tests how customers buy gift cards. According to the spokesperson, the test is only happening in a limited area.

Amazon did not say when the cards would return to stores.

The YS Team contacted some local grocery stores to see if they knew when the Amazon gift cards might return to the gift card rack.

Wegmans confirmed Amazon pulled its gift cards from NY Wegmans locations but did not elaborate.

Tops directed all questions to Amazon.

A spokesperson for Price Chopper said retailers in NY were told Amazon gift cards would return to stores on October 1.

Amazon said customers can always buy its gift cards online .
