In announcing her August book club pick, Reese Witherspoon proved she couldn’t wait any longer. Instead of sharing her pick with her fans on the first Tuesday of the month, Witherspoon shared her August pick a few days ahead of schedule on June 30!

“I just finished the best book,” Witherspoon said in her announcement on Instagram “It’s all about this couple – ugh, it makes me so nostalgic for high school – they were best friends, but they didn’t know they were in love with each other.”
Years later, the protagonists, Shiloh and Cary, meet again. “They meet again at a friend’s wedding,” The Morning Show star detailed. “They’re 33 now, he’s in the navy, she’s recently divorced. It’s just so charming and beautiful and funny.”
The novel, which was officially released on July 30, marked Witherspoon’s 99th pick of her book club. “I am just blown away, I can’t believe it,” she said of the milestone.
