Simone Biles has proven any doubters wrong after Team USA secured gold in the women's gymnastics team event at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Jonathan Owens, Biles' husband, got to witness the event first-hand after leaving Chicago Bears training camp on Monday.

In winning her first gold medal of the year, Biles has now won five Olympic gold medals throughout her entire career. She won four in the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics but failed to win gold in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics after withdrawing from the event due to the twisties.

After her win, Owens posted a photo on his Instagram story of Biles, Jordan Chiles, Suni Lee, and Jade Carey celebrating with the American flag. He gave a three-word reaction to his wife's win.

    "Gold medal baby," Owens commented.

Biles had an all-around incredible performance, scoring a point total of 58.332, the highest out of any performer. Team USA started off with the vault in rotation one, where Biles secured a 14.900 score.

In rotation two, Team USA partook in the uneven bars, and Biles recorded another high score of 14.400. Next for Biles and Team USA was the balance beam, where she tallied her lowest score of 14.366.

Finally, Biles ended with the floor exercise, notching a team-high 14.666 score.

Biles will go on to compete in four individual finals at the Olympics, including the vault, beam, floor exercise, and all-around. She recorded the top scores in the vault (15.800) and the floor exercise (14.600) during the qualifiers on Sunday.

The only individual competition she will not participate in is the uneven bars, where she scored 14.433.

The women's individual all-around final will begin on Thursday, August 1, at 12:15 p.m. ET.
