Tiny swimming trunks have been causing uproar at the Paris Olympics , where multiple aquatic sports competitors have wowed with their choice of swimwear.

Dutch swimmer Arno Kamminga left fans on social media shocked with his choice of swimwear , which had a skin-like appearance.

"In public? Is this legal?" One viewer gushed over the skimpy shorts

French diver Jules Bouyer has sent fans wild with tight trunks as viewers joke he's "leading by inches".

"I just really hope his speedo is getting paid time and a half," one fan joked.

The furore may well have caused some to ask why the swimming and diving teams are wearing such small swimwear, and the answer is the rules of the Olympics themselves.

In fact, swimwear offering more coverage is banned in the games.

Full-body swimsuits were banned by World Aquatics, the organization that oversees swimming, diving, water polo and more, as far back at 2024.

The ban was made in response to the "shiny suit" swimsuit made famous by Michael Phelps.

The suits led to multiple broken records, causing the organization to clamp down.
