Warner Bros. Games, the powerhouse games publisher behind “Hogwarts Legacy,” “Suicide Squad” and the “Batman: Arkham” series, has appointed Yves Lachance as the new vice president and studio head of Warner Bros. Games Montréal.

Lachance will manage all design, art, engineering and production for the Quebec-based games studio.

He will work closely with the entire publishing organization and other studios within the company to maximize opportunities for the studio, reporting directly to Ben Bell, senior vice president of production and studios at Warner Bros. Games.

The AAA studio was put on the map when it was tasked with developing the prequel/sequel to the critically revered “Batman: Arkham City.”

Warner Bros. Games charged the Montréal studio with developing 2013’s “Batman: Arkham Origins” to give more time to the series’ lead developing studio, Rocksteady Games, to work on the franchise’s conclusion, 2014’s “Batman: Arkham Knight.”

Since then, the company has only released one more game, 2022’s mix-received “Gotham Knights,” which gives players control of members of the Bat Family following Batman’s death.

Before joining Warner Bros. Games Montréal, Lachance was the studio director of Bethesda Game Studios in Montréal and held several leadership positions at Behaviour Interactive.

He is a graduate of McGill University with a degree in computer-based information systems.

“We feel Yves brings an excellent combination of experience and partnership to lead our Montréal studio into its next phase of growth,” Bell said. “Yves is extremely familiar with the unique culture and excellent opportunities in Montréal, and we are looking forward to the immersive gaming experiences he and our talented team will build together.”

Lachance added: “Warner Bros. Games’ major franchises and internal game development expertise provide an exceptional foundation on which to develop the next generation of games. I am thrilled to be able to work with the established Montréal team to create memorable games for some of the most impactful entertainment properties of this generation.”
