CUMBERLAND COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) — An investigation into a Capital City Mall security officer is underway regarding a viral social media video, according to police and mall officials.

In a memo on Monday, a mall spokesperson said they were “disappointed” and they are working with authorities in an ongoing investigation into the video. They added that the officer was employed by a third-party company and is now suspended.

We were disappointed to learn of the behavior demonstrated in the video circulating on TikTok involving a security officer at Capital City Mall. As this is an ongoing investigation, we are cooperating fully with the authorities. At the same time, the security officer has been suspended by his employer and will not be returning. As always, we remain committed to maintaining a welcoming environment for all our tenants, employees and shoppers. Thank you for your understanding.
