MARSHALL COUNTY, W.Va. ( WTRF ) –  Marshall County School employees, both current and retired, along with community members spent much of their day preparing for the 24 th Annual Back 2 School Fun Fair.

The fun fair is planned for tomorrow, Wednesday, July 31 st from 9 a.m. to Noon.

Any Marshall County Student, Pre-K through 12 th grade, is invited to the fair but must have an adult with them.

Susie Baker started the “Fun Fair” in 2000 and it’s become a celebration for students going back to school

“It’s really grown. We’ve got a lot more vendors this year, a lot more agencies here for our families. They come and get their backpacks and their school supplies and toiletries and food, but they also get to go around and talk to different agencies. No matter what your income guidelines are, everyone starts school with what they need to start school and be prepared.”

Susie Baker | Parent Educator, Marshall County Schools

Over 65 local organizations will be in attendance providing resources for families.

Baker says people camped out the night before last year and asks the community to refrain from doing so.

Doors open at 8:30 a.m. and Baker says there will be plenty of supplies for everyone in need.

Last year, more than 1,900 families participated in the event.
