Simone Biles' Olympic Earnings Revealed After Historic Gold Medal

Tuesday in Paris marked a historic day for not only Team USA's gymnastics team but also Simone Biles, who led them to gold in the women's team final.

For Team USA, it was the first time they had medaled since the 2016 games in Rio, but for Biles, the moment was slightly bigger for her legacy.

Not that individual success triumphs over team success, but for Biles, who is 27 years old and may not have that many games left in her future, it cemented her legacy even more than it already had been. She now has five gold medals and counting for her career, and this medal, in particular, gives her eight career Olympic medals.

This mark officially moved her past Shannon Miller's previous record of seven, which she obtained back in 1996 at the Atlanta games. It made her the then-most decorated gymnast in USA history.

Now that Biles has officially surpassed Miller, the job is not yet finished, as there is a realistic possibility that she can add even more medals to her trophy case with four more events left on the docket.

She still has the women's all-around, vault, balance beam and floor exercises left to compete in.

While adding more gold to the cabinet is bound to happen for Biles, many fans have been wondering how much she earns for winning, a question that a recent Forbes article answered.

According to their 2023 estimates, Biles earned an estimated whopping $7.1 million this past year, with a projected $7 million of that coming from endorsements like United Airlines, Visa, GK Elite, and haircare brand K18. She was also the lone gymnast to rank within the top 20 highest-paid females in athletics.

However, while a lot of her money is coming from those partnerships, her earnings from medaling are certainly a nice chunk of change. According to Forbes , the U.S. Olympic Committee awards $37,500 for gold, $22,500 for silver, and $15,000 for bronze.

In medals alone, she is up to nearly $40,000 already, with more possible earnings along the way. If she were to get gold in all four events, that would bring her projected earnings to $187,500 in total for the Paris Games on just medaling alone.

In terms of how she scored during Tuesday's team finals, Biles got a 14.666 and a standing ovation from the crowd in attendance after her floor routine, which was the last of the day. She registered a 14.366 on the beam, 14.400 on the uneven bars, which isn't viewed as her strongest event, and got a 14.9 on the vault.

She will return to action on August 1 for the all-around final, and will look to continue to captivate fans on the world stage.
