John Janssen compares dating ex Shannon Beador to failing ‘at everything’: ‘I tried very, very hard’

John Janssen is defending himself, following his breakup with Shannon Beador.

The insurance exec, 61, opened up about his relationship with the “Real Housewives of Orange County” star during a chat with Carlos King on the July 30 episode of the “ Reality with The King ” podcast.

“I wanna say that my relationship with Shannon was real,” he shared while sitting next to his new girlfriend Alexis Bellino. “She has a wonderful side to her. But I think people out there just assume John was the problem in the relationship, and I would just challenge people to think about what it might be like to be with Shannon.”

He continued, “I will say that, what was it like? It was what it is like to fail every day, all day, every day to fail at everything. That’s what it felt like to date her.”

Although he acknowledged that they did have some “good times” together, he believes they weren’t a good fit.

“I tried very, very hard. I did. But we were never meant to be together,” he said about their three-and-a-half-year relationship.

Following their 2023 split, things turned nasty for the couple as he reportedly sued Beador for money she allegedly borrowed for a facelift.

According to court papers, Janssen filed a lawsuit in the Orange County Superior Court claiming the reality star, 60, breached their oral contract and is committing promissory fraud by purposely not paying him back.

He reportedly lent her $40,000 via wire transfer in 2022 for the facelift and another $35,000 via personal check the following year.

However, Beador claims the money was a gift and never meant to be repaid.

Last year, she was arrested for driving under the influence after getting into a car accident.

In a recent episode of “RHOC,” Beador claimed that moments before the crash, she had been at Janssen’s house where they got into an argument over him calling her a “drunken idiot.”

During the podcast interview, Janssen also took time to gush about fellow “RHOC” star Bellino, who he started dating in November 2023 , calling her “perfect” for him.

“This is what it’s supposed to be like,” he shared. “There’s a lot of stress that’s gone from my life, and, you know, it’s sad.”

Bellino further revealed that the couple were initially private about their relationship but now “we’re at the point where it’s like, we’re focused on the future and we’re moving forward. You either take us or leave us; you either accept that we’re dating or you hate it.”

“But if you don’t want us to be together, then swipe left on the Instagram — don’t follow my page. Turn the other way if you don’t like it, because here we are.”
