Hailey Van Lith Makes Concerning Olympics Admission After Team USA Loss

Team USA women's basketball entered the Olympics once again as the favorite for the gold medal. The Team USA 3x3 group entered as the defending champions with lofty expectations as well.

Unfortunately, the 3x3 team lost in the opening game of pool play, falling to Germany 17-13.

After the loss, Team USA star Hailey Van Lith made a concerning admission regarding the game, and she blamed the Opening Ceremony (h/t ESPN).

"I think I actually have a cold," Van Lith said. "I think it was from the rain in the opening ceremony. So, I think it's a combination of that, but I'll be fine. I played through it in the NCAA tournament, so there's nothing that's going to take me out."

Van Lith was not well after the game, and it makes sense after seeing these comments from the NCAA star who transferred from LSU to TCU.

Van Lith led Team USA with six points, but Germany overcame a 5-0 USA lead to win.

Team USA is right back at it on Wednesday against Azerbaijan, and they will need Van Lith at her best if they want to make another run at the gold medal.
