    Who is Taylor-Brown?

Taylor-Brown, 30, was born on March 15, 1994 in Manchester.

She began swimming at just five and picked up running as a 12-year-old at school.

But after refusing to pick between the two sports, Taylor-Brown blended her passions and focussed on triathlons.

As a junior, she won European and World honours while being tipped for huge success in the Olympics.

The 2016 Games in Rio came around too quick but just two years after she was a regular on the Great Britain World Triathlon Series squad.

Taylor-Brown was selected to represent Team GB at the delayed Tokyo Olympics in 2021.

She went onto win silver in the women’s triathlon – despite having a punctured tyre – and gold in the mixed relay.

And ahead of the Paris Games, Taylor-Brown fancies replicating her double medal success – or even topping it.

She said: “I assume that every athlete that goes to the Olympics believes they can be an Olympic champion.

“Two medals would be nice, especially two golds.”

The MBE was named Team GB’s female triathlete squad along with Beth Potter and Kate Waugh.

Taylor-Brown, along with Potter, raced in Sardinia in May before her Olympic selection.

She said: “It was our selection race, I knew I had put out a strong and aggressive performance, and I did that.

“I was happy with my form on that day and I was in medal contention until the last 3km.

“There were a few things I can change but I knew I needed to be there in a happy, healthy state.

“Now it’s done I can prepare to hopefully be better in Paris.”
