WHAT WE'RE TRACKING :
A much cooler Tuesday ahead
Mild and dry weather this week
Warming back up with rain chances returning next week
PLANNING THE NEXT 24 HOURS: The overall storm threat across the Madison viewing area is diminishing and pushing eastward. A few lingering showers behind the severe thunderstorms we saw overnight will continue into early Tuesday morning. There were a few wind damage and wind gust reports across southern Wisconsin, two of which were in Dane County. Several areas saw 1-2" rainfall rates an hour. Skies will start to clear in the afternoon and especially evening as temperatures only warm to 70 degrees today. It will be breezy with wind gusts around 15-20mph. Tuesday night under mostly clear skies temperatures will fall much more, most of southern Wisconsin will drop into the upper 50s.
EXTENDED FORECA ST : High pressure will dominate allowing for dry and cooler conditions the next several days. Skies will remain partly sunny. The upcoming weekend is looking pleasant and dry right now, with the next chance of active weather returning early next week.
