On Monday evening, Noah Thompson practiced snapping the ball to Mac Marsee during the opening day of the BNL Unified Flag Football Skills Camp. The three-day camp offered two sessions each day: one for grades K-6 and one for grades 7-12.

"Unified" means that there are people both with and without disabilities on the same team. BNL won the sectional last year and has won the sectional six consecutive years. BNL also won the 2018 Unified Football State Championship.

The BNL Unified Football team's first game is on Sept. 16 at Mooresville. The younger attendees of the Camp are eligible to sign up for the new flag football program at the Boys and Girls Club of Lawrence County, which is in its second year.

The signup deadline is Aug. 10. Log onto bgclawco.org for more information.
